I hope more than a few of us will contact Apple about this privacy option that would be a great addition to the VoiceOver privacy feature-set. As for the difference between telephone keypads and calculator keypads? That, my friend, is a long story and has more to do with the history of technology than anything else. There are a lot of weird things in life: for example why do we refer to insurance that is for use when one dies as life insurance? Rather than death insurance? (smile).
