Hi to all,
Richard, you said:

Sorry for a stupid question, but what external power do you mean?
Do you need to purchase any additional accessories like adapter to get
external power or just regular Iphone/Ipad charger?
My friend has "Lightning to USB 3 camera adapter. She plugs it to the
Iphone charging port. The adapter has two ports on the other end, One
port is for plugging USb drives, another port is for lightning
Iphone/Ipad cable to charge Iphone.
She didn't mention extra power when she uses the adapter with her Iphone.
Thanks.

The iPad should be able to handle them without external power.
Now, if you plug in an external drive like a 1 or 2, or more TB hard
drive, you will need extra power I think even with an iPad.

Hello,
Looking through apple's on-line resources, usb and flash card readers
can be connected via the camera kit, and those that may require more
power need the camera kit 3. So this kit provides connectivity to
either lightening ports, or usb 3 in the cases of recent iphones and
ipads.
Apples guidelines say that these kits can facilitate usb or external
drives, and or, flash drives. What concerns me, is that although
mention is made of the ability to view photo file types, no mention
is made of accessing audio files.
is there a connector either third partyy or via apple, connector
that will allow me to access audio books on a USB device, or CF card
reader connected to an iphone 12, or ipad with a usb 3 port?
Sorry for the rambling nature of this question.
Thanks.
Happy new year to all.
