Good deal, Mark. At least now you know what it is. Yes, I know. Change when it comes is difficult to adapt to. Some days I wish for the good old days. Smile Hey, I remember having a crank phone and party lines. Now phones change nearly every day. At my age, I just want my phone to work!!
Thanks to friends and these tech lists, we can get answers in a short time, usually. Thank God and geeks... While interesting, this did not pinpoint the source of the enhanced audio in face time. However, I was able to determine that the new audio sound, when in Face Time, is a function of the 14 and not of the OS. iOS 16.2 on the 11, the iPad, and a couple of other phones does not reproduce the effect. The effect has nothing to do with VoiceOver, either. I was able to contact a friend, who also recently purchased iPhone 14 Pro and he confirmed the enhanced sound effect which, is not bad; it just makes the person on the other end sound as though they are in the same room as you are. I know, I know, I should be pleased, right? Put it down to me being a man who does not like unexpected or unexplained change (big smile). The audio sounds is kind of spacial, or something. This is not the case when making Facetime calls on my beloved 8 Plus running iOS 15.x. Has anyone else noticed this and, if so, is there a way to disable it? I am not a huge fan of spacial audio, at least, not at this point. All replies greatly appreciated.
