Ever since the app library was introduced, it has been possible to have
more than one app icon pointing to the same app. Only one instance of an
app is on your device, but you might have several icons, perhaps on
different home screens or in different folders. Alternatively, it's
possible to not use home screens at all and simply use the app library to
access apps. If you take this approach and hide all of your home screens,
be aware that the app library uses artificial intelligence and tags
submitted by app developers to determine which categories in the library to
put apps in. There's no way to manually organize apps inside the library.
For that, you'll need to use home screens and folders. Hope that helps.
