Hi Janet, the purpose of smart door locks are, let's just say, do you want to send somebody to your house, to pick up something for you. But you're not home. You could either unlock it for them, or you can give them a virtual key that you could later just dispose of or, let's say you left your house and accidentally forgot to lock your doors. You could launch that app, and lock your doors directly from the app.
