Janet since my previous luxe, had the keypad on the door knob, hi, don't know if that can be done. I think if you left him there, it would be tempting to lock that one, and then nobody could get in. As far as breaking the keypad I don't know if that possibly could be a problem or not. And I think even if a person did come and break the keypad, then you would definitely have some serious issues with your door. Lock whenever you got home. If somebody broke your keypad. Joseph Hudson
