For those that have any useable vision, there is a new app from Humanware called Explore Magnifier. I have just downloaded it and it appears to be a very simple magnifier. So far I see that you can change the level of magnification and take a picture of what you are looking at. No other bells and whistles that I have found, but it does seem to work.
