Hi, How strange. I am also working with a Latin book on my iPHone, and I see dots 4-5-6 before the vowel with a macron. So an o with a macron shows dots 4-5-6 o. The files I'm using were originally PDF, which I converted to epub using Stanza and then read in iBooks. This is also how I see vowels with macrons if I create them on the iPhone keyboard. So maybe there would be a way to convert the text you are reading into a different form that would show the macrons. I hope so.
