I'm using the wheelocks latin 7th edition from the ibooks online book store
and for the most part I am doing ok but it would be nice to have these
annoying macron characters marked on my display in some usable manner. I
wonder if there is a way of converting an ibooks formatted book to something
else. I can read it using voiceover, but it would be easier to do it with
the braille. At least I am able to use the voicenote apex to help with
pronunciation.

Subject: Re: how do i get my braille display to show the macron characters

Hi,

How strange. I am also working with a Latin book on my iPHone, and I see
dots 4-5-6 before the vowel with a macron. So an o with a macron shows dots
4-5-6 o. The files I'm using were originally PDF, which I converted to epub
using Stanza and then read in iBooks. This is also how I see vowels with
macrons if I create them on the iPhone keyboard. So maybe there would be a
way to convert the text you are reading into a different form that would
show the macrons. I hope so.

Best,
Anna
