I absolutely don't experience this, a short pause after the Siri tone works perfectly for me and
while I consider myself to be perfectly polite, I don't think I'll start telling Siri
"please" and "thank you", next thing you start doing so when you press the
elevator button. .

Since IOS 16 I’ve been having a terrible time with Siri not catching the
beginning of what I say to it, no matter how long a pause I think I have left
before I start speaking. However, I have discovered that if you say please
before you tell Siri your request, it works every time.
