There is actually a slightly different way that I have always done. 1. Open Mail settings 2. Click on the Gmail account 3. Just below the Gmail account heading, there is a button labeled with account and the name of your account, click on this button. 4. Click on the advanced button near the bottom of the screen 5. IN here there is a Heading labeled “Move discarded messages in to” with two choices Deleted Mailbox and Archive Mailbox.
