It is certainly possible for Wi-Fi to be slower than cellular, but, this is usually not the case.  Your Wi-Fi router/access point is more than seven years old, I could foresee cellular being faster, assuming you have access to LTE or 5G ultra wideband. A poorly optimized Wi-Fi network can also be slow, especially if you live in a congested area, like an apartment complex. But, if Wi-Fi is set up correctly and is reasonably modern, it will usually be pretty fast.
