From one of the articles, I read, the nest, smart smoke alarms do not even work with the Google home app. So you are probably wise to wait in the Sea. And I personally wouldn't spend the money on a smart smoke detector. At least not until they are more common and the prices go down. You could check the status of the battery, be notified when the device needs to be replaced, perform an self test and get notified when the alarm goes off even if you aren’t at home.
