I had checked out but needed to edit the open order. It was scheduled for the next day for delivery.

I was in my buy it’s again list and swiped on the item in question and changed an item quantity. Try removing the item from the cart before checking out. VoiceOver should read the list of items in your cart. See if there is a remove open there, or possibly delete; I haven’t done it so I don’t know for sure.
