Mark, I too was not familiar with the term Open Air, or Open Back, or whatever
variations there are. That just means while they transmit sound your ears are
open to hear the surrounding environment, while bone conduction use vibrations
through the bones to provide the sound.

Hello Mike,

As I have never used the Open Air models, I don’t think I can answer your
question with any degree of certainty.

Open Fit is worn more like Air Pods except the speaker is located outside and
just above the center of your ear while the Open Run Pro speakers sit in front
of your ear, near the top of your jawbone.

That’s about the best I can do.

Mark

Hi Mark,

What are the differences between the Open Run Pro and the Open fit models in
regards as to how you wear them? I currently use the Aftershokz Trekz-Air
headset and like the way it fits, sounds and works. Thanks much.

Take care. Mike. Sent from my iBarstool.

Subject: Mark on the Aftershock (Shock) Open Run Pro and Open Fit Bluetooth
Headphones for iPhone

Hello Everyone,

A couple of days ago, I purchased a pair of the Open Run Pro bone conducting
Bluetooth headsets for use with my iPhone.

I decided to buy a pair because I have a couple of friends who are using the
Open Run models and when talking to them, I cannot tell that they are using a
Bluetooth headset, the microphone quality is that good.

I think they are absolutely amazing.

What I did not discover until after purchasing is that, using the Shock app for
iOS, one can change the voice profile. Kind of an E.Q. feature that I
absolutely love.

The cost of this model is approximately 180 USD.

In fact, I was so impressed with the Open Run Pro model that, just 2 days
later, I purchased the Open Fit model.

With the Open Fit, you do not only have 4 preset sound profiles, from which to
choose, but you also have a full equalizer feature.

The approximate cost of the Open Fit model is 130 USD.

There are several differences between the Open Run Pro and the Open Fit model.
1.
The Open Run Pro is bone conduction.

2.
The Open Fit, while not sitting in the ear, uses sound waves to conduct the
sound.

3.
Like Air Pods, the Open Fit can be worn on one ear at a time or on both ears.

4.
Unlike Air Pods, both the Open Run Pro and the Open Fit can switch between
Apple Watch and iPhone seamlessly as both models can connect to, two, devices,
simultaneously.

You can purchase these models from Amazon or from Shock.com or, like me, just
go into your local Best Buy and grab a pair.
