It wouldn't hurt to ask them.
As I said before, and as I still say, I think it is important to have a caller 
ID.
I can't tell you how many times I've answered the phone, only to hear someone 
on the other end wanting me to send money to another country.

Hi Sieghard and All,

I just called my phone carrier T-Mobile, regarding the caller ID issue I have 
been having.
They turned the caller ID on for me, and they said they just updated it, but 
they also said some times this can take 72 hours, before it will take affect.
So, they had me to hang up the phone, and restart the phone to see if it worked 
then.
They then called me back a few minutes later, and I told them I still get the 
message saying in progress, but not the option to toggle it on or off.
They assured me it will be working within 72 hours, and they will call me back 
this coming Tuesday to check if I can turn it on then.
They told me to keep checking the setting in between now and Tuesday.
They also said because of this issue, they will not charge me any monthly 
payment for my next bill.
So, we'll see.

I just did a Google search for "Show Caller Id not available on iPhone" and I 
found the following which clearly indicates that having the Show Caller Id 
switch depends on your carrier and that Verizon and Sprint don't make this 
available to their customers:

the iPhone, is provided and managed by your carrier. Most carriers provide the 
feature to be toggled OFF or ON right from the iPhone.
Some carriers do not provide this capability and require the user to call them.
Therefore I recommend that you contact your carrier for a resolution.
