Alan made me think of another point to make. Since my Arboleaf app now works so well, in the VoiceOver Recognition settings, under Screen Recognition, there is a place to select apps for which you want screen recognition to turn on automatically when you open that app.
I added Arboleaf to that list, so this morning, when I launched Arboleaf, screen recognition turned on automatically. When I exited the app, screen recognition turned off. A very nice feature. If you're noticing an app that used to work and now VoiceOver doesn't seem to be speaking much of anything, try using the rotor to turn on screen recognition for that app to see if you get different results. I seldom leave it turned on for an app when doing this but I expect you'll develop a routine that works best for you. Their app became very difficult to use after a recent update. I decided to try Screen Recognition in their app; which has the same name, Arboleaf. It works perfectly with screen recognition, in fact, it reads much better. The information it gathers like your BMI reads on one line now instead of having to flick to the next line, etc. In many cases, turning it on makes an app next to useless, but when it works, it works great. This is why one should put it in their rotor and try it on apps that are not reading well but leave it off for most apps. Can someone give an example where it does some good? I’d like to learn what it is supposed to do. Swiping up or down with 1 finger should toggle it on or off. If you don’t use it at all, then maybe taking it from your rotor suggestions would help.
