I’m not an expert, and it has been several years since I got a new phone.

Before you start the transfer, I recommend you connect the old phone to your
computer and take an encrypted backup as a precaution.

If at all possible, you should have both phones plugged into the charger so you
don’t lose battery power during the transfer.

Have both phones in close proximity side by side.

Subject: Thoughts and Upgrades

Good morning!

I have a couple questions for you as I upgrade to a new phone today. This time
though, I’m getting it in the mail, whereas in the past, I’ve always gotten it
at the store. While I know the answers are going to be personal choice, I am
curious as to what some of you have done or experienced.

First, how easy is it to transfer from one phone to a new one? I’ve always done
it at the store. How easy is the phone syncing, and how flawless is the
transition?

Also, in the past, I’ve always just done a restore from the cloud, which brings
everything to the new phone. I began wondering, with the new IOS and future
Apple Intelligence, if it would be better to start from scratch and then
download the things I want.

I currently have several apps and things on my phone that either are old or
that I don’t use. But, I have several folders as well.

I just wonder what the advantages are of one over the other.

Finally, I’m trying to remember. I’ll have to reconnect or re-pair all
Bluetooth devices, correct? Those settings don’t transfer, right?

I’m looking forward to using this new iPhone 16 pro!

Jim
