Think about it this way, the dock is just a segmented off portion of your main screen. The main difference is that it can only accept four icons. If you’d like to put something into the dock, first go in there and make sure you have at least one opening, only three icons present. After that, the dragon drop process is the same, pick the item you wanna put in the dock, selected for moving, and then pick something in the dock, and tell it to drop your app before or after the icon you selected in the dock.
