So, you are on the beta? What notification exactly are you talking about? As you write, or the standard notifications on the phone? There are a lot of settings now for Braille Screen Input, and you can have it speak characters, words, or both or neither I think. Perhaps a setting got changed there if you are talking about the feedback as you write.
