Two things come to mind. 1. Have you locked the orientation of your screen?
To do this, bring up the control Center by touching the status bar and flicking up with three fingers. On the left side of the screen, right below Wi-Fi, is Lock Orientation. If it is off, double tap, and you will always be in portrait mode. 2. Are you accidently invoking Braille Screen Input by double tapping at both the top and bottom edges of the screen at the same time? You can turn off the activation gestures for Braille Screen Input under VoiceOver Settings, Braille. I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max With 18.0.1 and I certainly wish it would leave.
