It is lightening, but I think that it is a uspc to lightening instead of the older usp-a to lightening cable that older phones use. In contrast, the iphone 15 which I just upgraded to has a fully uspc cable. It was quite a surprise for me because I did not have any wall adapters that would take that type of cable, and my laptop does not have any of those type of ports either. I had to purchase a compatible charging port to be able to charge my phone.
