Yes, you have to redownload them.
You mention hundreds of titles. If you choose to redownload them, be
aware that you have a download limit of 250 titles per month.

I think once you have downloaded a book onto a device it's there. You
will have to re-download them on the new device. I always leave a long
list in my wish list because that remains on the NLS server. I usually
don't download books till I'm ready to read them for that very reason.
