Hi, you get 5 gb included free with iCloud. It will not store music from
what I understand, nor will it store copies of apps. Instead, it stores
data and documents and pictures. For music storing it would mean you use
iTunes match. This is how I understand it and others will no doubt
correct me if I'm wrong.
Thanks.

*Is there a difference between iCloud storage and ICloud backup?*

*I mean, if I have 20GB of music on my iPhone, transferred from iTunes
on my PC, and I do an ICloud backup, doesn’t that mean I need 20+ GB of
iCloud storage space? But I think iCloud only gives 2GB or 5GB of free
storage space without a fee.*
**
*Or is iCloud backup considered distinct from iCloud storage, as it’s
only useful for restoring a device, and not for accessing specific
elements from a large storage pool of independent elements, so there’s
no fee for storing a backup?*

*Thanks. Still trying to get my brain around all this stuff.*

Yes during the initial setup of the iPad it asks you if you want to set
up as a new device or from iCloud.

Hi,
I think you can back up your iPhone to iCloud and then when you get your
iPad, choose the option to restore it from that backup. Everything you
have on your phone should then be copied to your iPad.

Anna

Hi all,
When iCloud first came out, I set up an account before I ever had my mac
computer running snowleopard.
Today, I backed up
my phone to this iCloud account.
I know I can't use iCloud with sl but I will be getting an iPad mini for
Christmas. How can I get the apps and things that are on my phone onto
the iPad using iCloud?
Thanks,
Stacey
