That is really awful on Amazon's part.
My immediate work-around would be to use Be My Eyes, call a volunteer, and ask 
them to help you find a package.

The only other option, depending on where you live, is finding out if there is 
a secure drop box for Amazon where they send you a QR code that you hold up to 
the scanner on a bank of bins and it unlocks yours and/or drops the package 
through a shoot.
They usually have someone there to assist.  We use that when we were both 
working and couldn't count on being around when a delivery was made.
I don't even know if those places still exist since one of us is usually 
available to be here when a package is delivered...

Hi Richard,

Yes I did tell Amazon to be for sure they write in my file that I am blind, and 
they need to ring the doorbell, or even just call me, and I can run down the 
stairs.
Amazon customer service said that is in my notes, but still yet they don't ring 
my doorbell, they send me a text message letting me know they dropped it off, 
but I still don't know where they dropped it off.

I set it up with Amazon customer Service to put a note with all my deliveries 
that I am blind and need people to ring the doorbell.
I would say that is more than 90% successful.
When they ship via USPS, our regular male carrier always rings the bell if 
things don't fit in the mailbox.
When there is a substitute carrier, that is inconsistent.

If they deliver something and don't ring the doorbell, I call customer service 
and let them know.
I do know that with most high-end products, a signature is required, so they 
cannot leave it on the step...

They always leave my packages at the front door, but maybe with an expensive 
purchase like a pone, they would want the customer to receive it.
I too get the your item has shipped and your item is out for delivery, and your 
item has been delivered, so don't know what happened here or what you should do 
about it. There are all those tracking numbers. Have never been able to make 
sense of them or know what to do about them. Don't they try the next day?

Hi Janet, I'm sorry that you've had that experience. Anytime I order from 
Apple, it gets delivered right into my mailbox. I also get notifications from 
the Apple Store app that my product has been delivered. And which in every case

So he asked me if I wanted to pick it up at the Apple store, and I told him no, 
I have to many errands to run, and I won't be around an Apple Store, so I told 
him to cancel the order.
He said they will refund my money as soon as they get the phone back from the U 
S P Delivery Department, and I said that is fine.
I knew I would be going to target's Store on Friday as I had a $90 gift card, 
and it was burning a hole in my purse, so I had to spend it!
Ok now, I went to the Target's Store on Friday, I felt the iPhone 16 Pro 128 
GB, as I did when I was there a couple weeks ago which was a fine size for my 
hands.
I told the sale's person I want to buy this Apple iPhone 16 pro 128 GB, well 
low in behold, I was then informed they don't sell them!
I asked him why would they have that phone on display if they don't sell them, 
and he  said he didn't really know.
Ok now, I was just shopping on Amazon again for the iPhone 16 Pro 128 as I was 
doing some days ago, and I can't seem to find any iPhone 16 Pro 128 bran new, 
all I see is renewed, and I do not want that.
So, I guess I will have to call Apple set up an appointment to go into the 
store and buy the phone.
I've never had such a difficult time buying a phone until now.
I am sick to death of searching through Amazon's   dumpster!
I get the same results from Best Buy as I do with Amazon, although Best Buy 
Calls it open box!
Just thought I would share my experience with you all!
