Be My Eyes is now integrated with the glasses which means I can simply say “Hey Meta, Be My Eyes” and I get a sighted Be My Eyes helper who can see through the camera on the glasses and I never have to touch my phone let alone hold my phone and try to point the camera where I want the helper to look. If I wanted help while I am out and about then I have my dog’s harness in my left hand which means I have to pull out my iPhone, unlock it, open Be My Eyes and initiate a call. In the winter this means I most likely have to also take off my gloves, then I have to hold the phone in my right hand while walking and so on. Being able to call with just a command and then to simply turn my head a bit this way or that makes a huge difference. Also, getting just a basic description of something by saying “Hey Meta, what do you see” or “Heyy Meta, what am I holding” is also quite useful in many situations. Lastly, there is the ability to quickly take a picture or even start a video which can come in handy in some situations. I often wished I could do this fast enough when I pushed the button on a set of lights and it’s beeping to let me know I have a walk signal only for some idiot who isn’t paying attention to blow through the intersection. With the glasses I could just look right and snap a picture and there is a good chance I might have caught his license plate. These glasses are not the ultimate solution for everything, but if you were able to grab a pair at 20% off during the Black Friday sale, I think they are worth it. After all, people spend $150 or whatever it si these days for a set of Aftershokz bone conduction headsets and apart from the smart features and the camera, I simply enjoy using the glasses to listen to an audio book where my ears are not blocked or to talk on the phone; most also told me the call quality is quite good.
