Never even thought of asking siri.
I will definitely try it.
However, code scanner doesn't appear in the application centre, although it is
checked when I looked at the camera settings.
Also, it doesn't appear to be one of the options to put on the rota. But if you
can just ask siri, then that would be the solution.

I suspect for those who don't want to talk to Siri, it may work from type to
Siri as well. For someone using type to Siri, it would be worth a try.

There is no app, unless you are talking a third party app.
First, check under settings, camera, and make sure that Scan QR codes is on.
I do not know if that then puts it in the control center, or if you have to add
it there somehow, but also, if you can get a QR code in focus when you just
open the camera app, it will scan it automatically if that setting is on.

Yes. I found the more controls. That’s how I got the four screens, some of
which are repeating actually, but still four separate screens. But I did not
find anything about scanning or scanner or QR.

Though, there is also a setting, or there was, a setting under Camera for
recognizing QR codes....

You probably want it on the first screen of control center.
Then, when you want to scan a QR code, open the control center and tap on Scan
Codes, at least on my 16 pro it now says Scan Codes, whereas before it said
