Carolyn, Here is a walk through that may help. First, the major change is that they combined several features into the three tabs near the bottom of the screen. The Read Tab is now the ShortText, Document, and Handwriting combined. The Read Tab is usually selected by default. So, if you want to use shortText, you simply point the camera as it is already functioning. If you also want to read Handwriting, just point the camera. If you want to use the document reading feature, you will need to take a picture of the document by using the button in the app. You can also turn on the edge detection if you want it to help you get the document in focus. The Describe Tab is a combination of the Scene description and the Person channel from the previous version. So, you take a picture to have it describe whatever you are pointing the camera at. The More tab is where the other channels now live. Depending on whether you have gone into the menu, Settings, Edit Channels, you should have all the other channels available there. I have unselected those I don't ever use and reordered the others, but these are the ones you should have if you have not changed anything; not necessarily in this order: World, Light, Product, Find my Things, Person, Currency, Color, Those are accessed the same as before once you find the place where the first channel is listed, you flick up or down to get the other channels. You can also enable Siri Shortcuts from the menu, Configure Siri Shortcuts: The once you can select are: Recognize Light, Recognize World, Recognize Product Recognize Find My Things, Recognize Person Recognize Currency, Recognize New Person, Browse Photos Indoor Navigation. * I have no idea what the indoor navigation does as I have not tried it yet. You can customize the phrases you want to use with Siri. If you add a custom phrase like, "What does this say?" Siri would use the ShortText.... Beyond that, I would take some time with the Quick help on each channel you want help on. There is also a short video with each one in the quick help. I regret that this happened while you were in the initial learning phase. It used to be all the channels were in one menu that one could flick up or down within as desired. We now have the read, describe, and more tabs along with a menu button that goes to where the settings and help areas are located. When you first open Seeing AI after an update and you come to a channel that has something new, you should get a message you can swipe through describing the new features of that channel. Evan, while I agree that after getting used to the new layout it's perfectly fine, you were always able to sort the channels in the order one preferred, e.g. if you wanted Light Detection as the first/default channel you could have put it there in the old app. You were also able to configure 3 or 4 channels to appear in a quick list if you double tap and hold on the Seeing AI icon on the home screen or you can also set up Siri shortcuts for various channels and I assume this is still the case.
