Hello Sieghard and Richard Ok, now we are on the same page. I asked the question because I experienced it the other way round in that, in 2021 my iPhone 11 could upgrade to IOS15 but my Apple watch first gen could not upgrade beyond 2020, so the watch would not even connect to the iPhone, so the only use for the watch was to check the time.
