The following advice was at the end of the attached message, in case
anyone missed it.

this is true, and it probably goes without saying, but there are also
good reasons to leave things in the App Switcher, such as if you're
going to be jumping between different apps. I tend to open up all of my
social networking apps and leave them running for a while. This is
because that as I see something in a news feed I want to post on Google
Plus, I want to be able to jump between those apps without having to
restart them. It's true leaving apps running will drain your battery and
take up memory, but don't forget, your battery and memory are there to
be used. Definitely unload things you don't need running for a while,
but I'd advise against being so draconian that it start to impact your
productivity. Just my $0.02.
