I have Background App Refresh off, and I haven't missed it, don't know what it did when I had it, or what I am missing without the thing

In any case, I decided to turn background app refresh off completely and it does actually make a big difference and so far I can't really tell a difference where having it on actually gives me something I don't get when it is turned off. Before when I started out with my phone charged to 100% say at 8 AM, I often got the 20% low battery warning by late afternoon, now with background app refresh turned off, I am usually still at well over 50% at that time.
