Richard, I think you explained it perfect, which is true for the 16, like my
son has, but not for the 16E.

My only complaint about the 16E is the Action Button. It does not need to be so
close to the Volume Up button.

Hi Margaret, no. The 16 phones have a new thing that is specifically for the
camera, which also works if you open Be My Eyes. It is located on the right
side of the phone, below the power button. Cases for the 16 phones have a
rectangle cutout that is at least an inch long to allow access to the button.
It is a long button that is supposed to allow for doing various adjustments
with the camera that I personally cannot get to work with VoiceOver, but it
does work well as a button to take a picture with either the camera app, or Be
My Eyes.
That way you can press it in and take the picture.
I hope I explained that well enough.
I leave the action button which is above the volume buttons to be the control
for silent mode and ring mode.

I'm still with an iPhone SE 2 and am thinking about a 16E. When you
said "Though, I do like the camera switch on the side for use with Be My

your 16 Pro where the mute switch used to be on the left side above the volume
up and down buttons?

Sorry, this old dog's brain doesn't have enough storage space left to

But, is it that much better than my 13 pro; probably not. But
in my case, even though it was a major headache, I got it for next to nothing
since Xfinity gave me $1000 for the 13 pro as a trade-in. So I'm only out
about $100.

Yeah, can’t wait for the new wallpaper and screentime feature…
oh, right, I can’t see the wallpaper and don’t use screentime 🤣

I must say that my purchase of the 16 Pro last October was a
bad decision which I have regretted many times and I often wish I had kept my

                   Satellite Connectivity: Expanded Access

iOS 18.5 introduces significant advancements in satellite
connectivity, broadening its availability to more users. Satellite messaging
capabilities have been extended to users in the UK, making sure reliable

                   Performance Insights and Missing Features

While iOS 18.5 delivers meaningful updates, performance
benchmarks indicate a slight decline compared to earlier beta versions. Some
users have reported *heating issues* during testing, which Apple may address in
future updates. Additionally, a few anticipated features remain absent from
this release. Notable omissions include the “Recover All” option in the Photos
app and charging time estimates, both of which were expected by some users.
These features are likely to debut in subsequent updates, potentially as part
of iOS 19.

Despite these minor setbacks, iOS 18.5 remains a valuable
update, offering a range of enhancements that improve the overall user
experience. Apple’s iterative approach ensures that future updates will
continue to refine and expand upon the features introduced in this release.

When Will iOS 18.5 Be Available?

The public release of iOS 18.5 is anticipated within the next
week. However, Apple may choose to release a second Release Candidate (RC2)
based on feedback from the current testing phase. If you’re eager to explore
the new features, keep an eye on your device for the update notification. To
check for availability, navigate to *Settings > General > Software Update* and
follow the prompts to install the latest version once it becomes available.

What iOS 18.5 Brings to the Table

ongoing efforts to enhance the iPhone experience. From improved *accessibility
features* to expanded *satellite connectivity*, this update introduces

Apple’s dedication to innovation and user satisfaction. Prepare your device for
