Have you tried restarting your phone? Also, have you tried disabling Siri and then enabling it again sometimes that works if Siri starts behaving oddly and not working in the way it supposed to you just turn it off and then turn it back on again.

Hi List,

I’m running iOS 18.5 on an iPhone 16e. I have made no changes to any of my settings. I’m confused why my iPhone seems nonfunctional with Siri and suspect it relates to the iOS 26 beta and Apple tweaking something with Siri in connection with that. I would love to get some comments about what others are experiencing and apologies if this has already been addressed but I’ve been traveling the past week and not paying much attention to email. I’ll provide my experience with this latest Siri below.

When I say Hey Siri now, I get no response whatsoever even though I’ve made no changes in my settings and this worked perfectly fine a few days ago. When I press the side power button to summon Siri and ask her to call the home number of someone in my contacts who I’ve called numerous times, Siri comes back with a no match found or attempts to call someone totally unrelated to what I’ve spoken.

If this is the sort of result that switching to iOS 26 and its whole “liquid glass” regime is going to bring us, I’m not optimistic about the upcoming accessibility of iOS. I would welcome comments of others with respect to recent Siri behavior especially regarding summoning it with Hey Siri as well as its performance before I call Apple Accessibility and inquire about what I’m experiencing. And yes, I have restarted my iPhone a couple of times since experiencing this.

Thanks in advance for your comments.
