I'd definitely get dark ones, if I got them and with the green lenses, since 
that was my lens color of choice, when I had partial sight.

That's it, with no sight some may well prefer sunglasses-type specks.

As I say it's a matter of choice and I for one with no useful sight might just 
prefer darkened glasses.

Glare can be an issue for folk even who are blind.
