Two ways to do so: Easiest I think is to simply open the conversation with the person where the picture is, then find the message which has the picture and swipe down, you should have the following options: Keep (or Unkeep if you already tapped Keep) Reply Forward React Copy Save Pin Report Send for admin review Delete There are a few more options, but the one you want to tap on is “Save” You may be asked to allow WhatsApp to have access to your Photos Library and you would of course have to give that permission.
Second, if you tap on the Photo so it’s open on the screen, you have among others an option you can find by swiping right called “Toolbar icon Action Dimmed share” If you tap on that you have various share options, I think at the very top it just says “Share” and if you select that you should get the standard share sheet which allows you to send it to somebody by text, email and so on and you should have an option there to save it to your photos library as well. As I said, the first method is definitely easier. Also, if the photo has already been saved and you tap on Save again, it will tell you that it’s already in your Camera Roll and you can choose to cancel or save it again.
