Well, as luck would have it, I live in Mexico, but I happen to be in the US
right now staying with a friend who’s in tech-support and he’s been trying to
help me with this with no luck. I’m trying to use Karen, which is an a cappella
voice. No matter what we do we cannot open it. We can’t sample it. We can’t use
it. I think it’s time for me to think about using a different app. So I’m gonna
start another thread asking people what they use to read their books with. If
Voice Dream reader has become so unfriendly as far as users then I’m not sure I
want to support a company like that. I’ve used them for as long as they’ve been
around and it’s gonna be really hard to let them go. I appreciate all your
help, but I think I’m at the end of the road unless I subscribe. I know that
whenever it was that Winston sold the company there was a conversation on this
list about how about how things were gonna go. I also remember conversations
on this list when Voice Dream was requiring subscriptions. I see now they have
an announcement saying because of the pushback you no longer have to subscribe
and they will continue to support the way things were when we initially paid
money for the app. Apparently that’s not true. In case you can’t tell, I’m
pretty angry and frustrated. I’ll get over it as soon as I find another app. :-)
