I replied and I know exactly what you are wanting to do. Using this email thread as an example; When you receive this email in which you have opened, the email so that you can read my full message. & if by chance you decide that you want to view the other emails below mine, if you turn the rotor to messages. You will be able to navigate with three finger swipe up & down through the entire email. If this isn't what you are wanting to accomplish, I apologize for wasting your time reading my message for a second time. I did try to replicate your problem as I'm understanding it to be. And if once opening an email, and if you are at the top of the email, & the rotor is not set to messages. You will not be able to use a three finger swipe up to go through the emails. You will only be able to swipe with one finger from left to right or swipe down from the top of the screen with 2 fingers for continuous reading. This is definitely a bug. It should be reported but for me this is a good workaround for now. Donna
Thanks, but I wasn’t talking about that: I was talking, as were the others, about being able to scroll up and down through a long message.

The solution to your problem is as follows; open the email turn the rotor to Messages. Then you're able to use the swipe left and right Chester and the three finger swipe up and down to bring the bottom messages into focus. This is how I have always navigated through each of my emails.
I had talked about this earlier. Since then Apple got back to me, and since they wanted more besides the screen recording I initially did, I gave them my logs, then did a second screen recording. From the subject line interestingly enough, you can swipe down, but if you’ve read from that point and want to swipe back up, it doesn’t work. Hi Richard, What gesture(s) do you use to navigate through longemail messages? I would be happy to know about other ways.

Hi to All. Yesterday I upgraded to IOS 26.1. Today I cannot navigate through an email message using a 3-finger upward swipe. I called Apple Accessibility Support and learned that is a known issue with the update. I hope they fix it soon. Meanwhile, if you haven’t updated to 26.1 yet, I recommend waiting! I tried adding Containers to my rotor and navigating with containers and a single finger swipe to the right, but that didn’t work any better than navigating line by line. If anyone can offer other suggestions, please do. Otherwise, let’s hope Apple resolves the issue soon! Thanks.
