Hmmm, the way I read notifications is that when I press the side button
to unlock the phone and swipe over to between the time and whether my
flashlight is on, it tells me whether I have notifications. If I have
any, then I hit that button and they come up and I can swipe through
them and read them.
My phone is in my hand while I am doing these operations, so I can hit
the volume buttons every few seconds and go through them all without my
phone locking up.

Well, this definitely isn't an ideal fix, but if I change my volume up
and then down every few seconds while I'm reading my notifications,
the screen doesn't
lock.
I did say it wasn't ideal. But it does work.

Someone here on the list said that the behavior I am experiencing
where notifications on the locked screen read a part of the
notification but then get cut off and the phone locks started with
IOS 26.1. I just got my new iPhone 17 and have tried different
things to no avail! Anyone else have any ideas or are you
experiencing this problem since IOS 26.1? It’s annoying to say the
least!
