I agree sometimes I can just ask siri to go to the homescreen, but this morning I was in pandora and couldn't get sirsi to activate even though I said "hey siri" which usually works. I also couldn't get the swipe up gesture to work on either side of the screen. I have found that in some applications swiping up along the left edge works better than swiping up along the right edge. Swiping up in the middle of the screen doesn't ever seem to work even though that is what I read I should do.
