This only works if you still have the older version of the app in your iTunes. 
Also, when you open iTunes, you will need to go to the apps tab under iTunes 
and put a check at the particular app to reinstall the older version to your 
iPhone. When you delete the app from your iOS device, it is automatically 
unchecked in the sync apps tab in iTunes.
