I guess what is really the problem is that when I get a notification or a text message on the lock screen and it cuts off after a few seconds which everyone has agreed is a bug, when I hit the side button to actually read the whole notification, it locks before its read in full. If I swipe right and then back to the left it will usually read the whole thing. If that is just how it is then I guess I don’t have a choice. But it could be you are just locking it again with the side button. To unlock it you need to do the slide up from the bottom after the intial wake up.
