| I have a theory. Have you noticed the posts from "VIPhone" about their new iPhone, favorite magsafe accessories, etc. I suspect that is Mark's alias. Nothing is ever sent by Mark in reaction to anything on this list like commenting on the spam, or anything else. To me, moderating would involve reading messages on the list. Yet, there is no evidence he does so.

I’m sure that we all consider spam to be a nuisance but the list is hardly awash with it! I’m sure that Mark has other claims on his time apart from moderating this list and that’s perfectly acceptable.
I’ve seen Mark attacked for being too heavy handed and criticised for being to lenient! List moderation is a difficult and often thankless task but one I feel Mark has carried out well.
Remember his contact details are openly given to the list and I’m sure he does his level best.
I would urge all members not to throw out the proverbial baby with the bathwater.
This is an informative list with helpful members, a sort of family.

It's disappointing that the owners / moderators of the list are choosing not to enable post approval for new members. It's hard to see how this wouldn't solve the spam messages problem overnight. This is still a great list (I think it's nearly 16 years old!) but the amount of spam is starting to increase which puts the reputation of the list into doubt. Hey neighbors, Eric is coming to my house to clean my Dryer and Vents. I had his service last year and was really happy with it.
