I too have noticed this since I recently switched from the Iphone 14 to
Iphone 17 with IOS 26.
It might be the heightened sensitivity of the liquid glass screen, and
it's sensitivity might be reduced in settings ((some where).
I've learned to keep my fingers, when curled, higher above the screen,
fingers well spaced apart and press slowly and deliberately.
The faster I try to type the more of the unwanted dots.
Fortunately the dots 4, 5 and 6 are moderator keys and by them selves do
not do anything except dot 6 for capitalization. Enter a space after
those dots and they do nothing.

Hello, everyone,
Ever since updating to iOS 26, I've noticed that Braille Screen Input drops
characters even though it gives you the correct feedback for what you're
typing. I have character echo turned on, so for example, if I were to type the
word therapist, it might drop the t--h-e at the front of the word or the i-s-t
at the end of the word.
I'm also noticing BSI adding more dots than I actually pressed. So for example,
if I'm trying to type the contraction for and, I'll often get the contraction
for for. I don't think this is just dot drift or my finger placement, as this
happened way less in iOS 18.
Has anyone else noticed either of these issues?
Thanks,
Ari
