So the Book Player app connects to Dropbox, then you load a particular folder into it, which downloads that folder to the app? Is that the workflow? It does not stream the folder but runs directly from the phone? When I'm ready to delete a folder, it only deletes from the phone and not the cloud storage? This is what I wasn't understanding from an initial look at the app. If I direct the app to a large folder in Dropbox, which has subfolders, say a tv series with a folder inside for each season, will the app manage this, or will I need to add each individual folder manually?

Book player is one of the reasons why I’m going to get a 2 terabyte iPhone 18 pro max. I’ve got loads of audio dramas on my 13 pro max but with 2 terabytes of storage, I can put a bunch of tv shows I have uploaded to dropbox on my iPhone and book player will have no issues playing my stuff.

I never have problems playing mp3 files on my iPhone SE 2023. I am
not sure what plays them, but if for example, I send an mp3 from my
Windows computer that I want to play on my iPhone via e-mail, as an
attachment, and I open the e-mail and tap the attachment, some sort
of player opens with fully accessible controls and I play it by
tapping the play button.
