As Nokia is a completely different operating system from iOS, you are comparing
apples and oranges here.

The A2DP profile is used for the transmission of much more frequency rich sound
that is used in transmission of wireless stereo and multichannel music. Apple
has chosen to use this system for transmitting VO speech. I would guess it has
something to do with audio frequencies covered by the A2DP profile, but I am
not an Apple engineer.
