Is it possible that someone with a US credit card buys a book and gifts it
to some other ibook user? If that is possible, I may be of some help.

I guess I'll have to use my cousin's Apple ID because Apple won't
allow me to create an ID in the U.S. store as I don't have an American
credit card.
I already use his ID to download free apps and books from the U.S. store.
I suppose I'll be able to purchase paid books as well if I purchase
and redeem a gift card, like you suggested.
I've been struggling to find a solution to this problem ever since I
bought my iPhone 8 months ago.
I'll be more grateful to you than you can ever imagine if this works out.
