Hi Sandy, I don't experience what you describe about losing the label when I move the app around or put it into a folder. I just tested this by moving an app I know for sure I relabeled onto another app. The Folder was created, but my app still had its custom label. I then moved both apps out of the folder again to make it go away, by doing so the app with the custom label ended up on my second home page, it still had the label, I moved it back to the first home page and once again the label remained.
I think what you have to do is continue to label the app every time you see it lose its label. I do remember noticing even in iOS 5 that sometimes I would bring up the app switcher and an app which I had labeled would show up without the custom label. I just relabeled it every time that happened and eventually it seems to stay relabeled. This could definitely be improved and there is still the problem that if you have 2 apps that are called the same thing, e.g. Weather or Camera, and you relabel one of them both are relabeled. I hope everybody who experiences issues with this does report this to Apple so they realize this needs to be fixed. It eventually does work most of the time; why any one try is more successful than another is a mystery. The second thing to remember is that the label doesn't seem to transfer. If I move an app or put it in a folder the label sometimes goes away. Yes, the process is buggy, but it does work and it is definitely worth giving it a try. The trick is to keep labeling the button if the label doesn't stick the first time. I have had success after repeating the labeling process 3 or 4 times, if it doesn't work after 5 tries I usually give up, but I would say it works more often than not. My apologies for breaking the bad news! Wishing you a happy new year and here's hoping that the new operating system would not have this bug!
