No that is not true. You can delete music on your iPhone and have been
doing so since iOs 5. iOs 6 however employs a new, much easier way to do
this. With VoiceOver on, touch or swipe to the music you want to delete,
flick down with one finger to hear delete, then double tap. This is part
of the new actions rotor, and also works in Mail and several other stock
and third party apps.

Hi,
Go to Settings, and choose iTunes and App Stores. In the Automatic Downloads
section, you'll find a check box for music. If it's checked, anytime you
download music on any of your devices, it will show up on your iPHone. If you
uncheck it, it will only show up if you download it on that device.
It's not currently possible to delete individual tracks and albums from the
iPhone, but I'm pretty sure that will change with iOS 6.1.

Anna

Hi, I have a bit of a random question to ask about when using the native music app on an iPhone 4s. For some reason every single album and song I have ever bought has loaded itself onto my iPhone even though I have removed some of them in the past-Not sure exactly when this was, as have only just seen it. I have bought albums on a combination of devices including ipod shuffle, iPhone 3gs and now my current iPhone as mentioned above. I have used this phone since June and work from icloud as I have an iPhone, ipad and a Mac and want them all to have the same stuff on. I no longer use itunes on my Mac as it always gives me problems, instead I use it on my iPhone to directly download music, and on my apple tv to download movies and tv programs. The actual problem I am having, since all my extra albums have reappeared, albums I do not want to remove from my library but do not currently want on my iPhone, is that for several of these albums, the actions menu and thus the delete button
will not come up. I have searched through the rota to no avail. Neither will
it work properly if I hold and swipe as used to be the delete gesture in the
music app. How can I get rid of these albums yet keep them in my library? Will
icloud keep putting them back when I backup every night? Is it because for the
majority of these albums I had them on a different device previously? Any help
here would be appreciated! I am amazed I haven't yet run out of room on the
iPhone, but think I May run out soon if I can't overwrite some of my existing
music. By the way, I don't have itunes match and don't want it either! Thanks.
Kirsten
