Hi,

Under the right lighting conditions and with a dark background and light paper, the app works really well, but if you don't get the lighting correct and good contrast between the paper and the background the app doesn't work. So it is very fussy, but if you get it right it is very accurate.

Text Detective is the one that i have found to be the most accurate under all conditions, although it doesn't quite scan a hole page of a book, but for identifying labels and letters, its great. it even sometimes works to read the station label on my digital radio, although this one does take a bit of trial and error.

Cheers,

Brett

Hi, everyone: In search of a useable o cr app, I just downloaded the free app, Saytext. I tried following the instructions of, placing the iphone on the page after opening the app, and slowly raising the iphone from the page. Nothing happened. I notice that one of the buttons in the app is to take a picture, but the instructions indicate that that this is not necessary. The app doesn't work for me. If anyone has had success using it, I would greatly appreciate any tips.
Thank you.
