It is for faces. It will say small face, large face etc. This tells you how close the camera is to your face. You want it to say medium face or words to that effect. It will also say something like lower left corner, or top of screen etc. You want it to say center of screen. If it says medium face center of screen push the button! LOL!

In camera, in settings I turned on grid view. This isn't going to happen quickly and requires you to hold the camera very still so that it can auto focus and it has to remain there giving VO time to describe it for you.

Somebody was talking about this on my Blind-chit-chat list a few weeks back and again on the Trekker list about a week later which was how I heard about it and decided to give it a shot. I spent the better part of an afternoon getting 4 shots. When my sighted came home I had her look at the pictures I took. She said all 4 were good pictures but it was really to bad that I needed a shave! II never thought about that. Oh well! It does require a great deal of patience. If your after a shot of your kid, they will need to remain as still as possible but it can be done.

There is suppose to be an app out there which can improve things greatly. I've only heard about it but the person telling me this didn't know it's name etc.

Subject: Face Detection

Hi all,

I'm trying to take a picture of myself. If I use the face detection
feature of iOs, does anyone know how much of me will be in the photo
when it finds a face? E.G. will all of my body be in it or just the
face? Does this also depend on how far away the phone is from me when
I take the photo?
Any help would be great.

Cheers,
Ben.
